Named in honour of a local Brewster from 1890. Extra special bitter, full and fruity with a lingering hoppy finish. The hops are Bullion (one of the original high alpha hops from 1919) and Boadicea. Dark brown in colour.
We have five staple brews that are usually available, known as stock beer.
Well hopped copper beer
Light and refreshing golden ale. Tettnang hops.
Our multiple award winning coffee and vanilla porter. Not at all shy on flavour but beautifully balanced.

Named after the home of the dragon slayed by St. George, Brinsop is a light brown ale balancing the malty sweetness of the best English barley with the floral, spicy and herbal characteristics of the thoroughly English Boadicea hop.
The fear of an empty glass is thankfully easily remedied. English hops provide this session ale with a pleasant red berry fruit flavour.
An amber premium bitter with pale rye malt, a reddish hue and a mild spicy flavour.
Light amber in colour, a locally-picked green hop beer.
Pale and sweet session beer, with fruity hop flavour from Bramling cross hops.
Brewed using natural fresh lemons and their zest this amazing blonde beer is a real thirst quencher. With the addition of honey malt from Germany and Concorde, a development hop from Alsace, which we found to be amazingly spicy with hints of wild honey sweetness. Don't knock it until you've tried it.
Sorachi Ace single hop pale ale.
Continuing the Freak Show range, Mermaid is a light, citrus golden beer. Hops are Chinook for bittering and Mosaic and Citra for flavouring and aroma.
Fresh-picked green hopped ale.
Brewed to showcase the wonderful Willamette hop, with a smidge of Bullion and Mount Hood for good measure. Instead of the usual "choicest hops" and "finest malt" stuff, we've left it to the beer to do the talking.
Continues this year's (unintended) theme of giving beers names that are often mispronounced. Try "High-per-burr-lee"!
Brewed to commemorate the football match during the brief ceasefire of Christmas Day 1914. Fruity hop notes dominate this blonde ale.
Dark copper ale. Named after the bus which goes past the brewery from Halstead to Colchester!
First brewed for the Colchester Winter Beer Fest 2015 for their graveside bar! Dark bitter with balanced malt and hop packed with American aroma.
Very pale ale packed with the full flavours of four hops from Washington State's Yakima Valley. Rather like garlic and vampires, it's believed by some (but not many) that this beer is just the trick for those wishing to ward off bearded men (or women).
Dark Red American Hopped. "Pontisbright" is the old name for Chappel, the next village to us with the railway viaduct, and of course the home of the famous Chappel Beer Festival.
Brewed to celebrate the Colchester beer festival 2013 and in honour of the sterling work done by Colchester CAMRA volunteers. Hoppy, golden beer. The Latin name is a bit of a mouthful so it is often just known as "Romans".
Old ale with a dark and sinister malty sweetness.
One off brew with The Wise Monkeys, three members of our local Colchester CAMRA. Dark, rich, strong and full of flavour with oatmeal providing a smooth mouthfeel.
Blonde summer ale with full tropical fruit flavours from Ekuanot (formerly Equinox) hop. The only beer name to be inspired by the pumpclip idea from local tattoo artist Julie Clarke Edwards.
The Trinovantes tribe had territory on the north side of the Thames estuary in current Essex and Suffolk and land now located in Greater London. Their name derives from the Celtic intensive prefix "tri-" and "novio" - new, so meaning "very new" in the sense of "newcomers", but possibly with an applied sense of vigorous or lively - so the name could mean "the very vigorous people". Their capital was Camulodunum (modern Colchester). Golden hoppy beer, with light fruit flavour from Aurora hops giving great character.
